Good news for PC enthusiasts and gamers out there. With this it will be much easier to look for a PC case that will fit a GTX 1080 Ti GPU card inside. Before this announcement, such GPU cards would measure up to 12 inches in lenght that choosing the right PC case is a daunting task. Now there’s two Zotac GTX 1080 Ti that you can choose from – GTX 1080 Ti Mini and the GTX 1080 Ti ArcticStorm Mini. Both GPU cards measure only at 8.3 inches, that is almost 4 inches shorter. Such space can be use for other components like HDD drives for storage and for less stressful cable management.
Actual specifications aren’t available as of the moment and might be revealed at the Computex event. But given that these cards boasts a “1080” in their name, we can expect a total of 3,584 CUDA cores running at 353-bit bus using a PCI Express 3.0 port. Yes, these cards also comes with a dual 8-pin power and HDCP support.
Physically, both cards are almost similar in design except for the cooling features. The Zotac GTX 1080 Ti Mini comes with a dual fan cooler, aluminum fins and copper heatpipes. Zotac GTX 1080 Ti ArticStorm Mini on the other hand is fitted with a full cover water block that uses an open-loop water cooling system via G1/4 type fittings. Additionally, a solid metal backplate is used on both cards to provide strength and to protect the card from external forces like bending or twisting.
